The music ministry at Wayside continues to grow in every area. The Adult Choir ministry has seen a wonderful growth pattern in just the last year. We have gone from 30 in attendance to 50. The C.W.A (Children's Choir) has also seen a substantial increase this year.
In our worship experience, we follow the pattern of the Old Testament tabernacle. The beginning of our service is the the outer court, with exciting Praise to our Great God. As we move through the time of worship we head towards the Holy of Holies where we focus on a very intimate time of worship. Our goal is to hand the service to our Pastor with the worshippers in the Holy of Holies before the Lord. This style has worked very well for us and we praise God for it. We still have an invitation, or as some call it an Altar Call, an opportunity at the end of the service for people to respond to the call of God, whatever that may be. Come and Worship with us. The purpose of the Music Ministry at Wayside is to nurture a church-wide awareness of music as a tool for ministry, to develop God's people in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, and fellowship through music. This leads to a unifying spirit of worship.
The Adult Choir meets each Wednesday at 7:00pm until 8:15pm. We do have special practices for our special events such as Christmas, Easter, and Fourth of July.
The Praise Band is a vital part of our Worship experience. We are blessed to have drums, percussion with congas, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar and piano. We have three to four vocalists at the present time. Our Adult Choir sings with the Praise Team during the first part of the worship experience.
We have a blended style of worship using contemporary praise songs as well as hymns. This has become the style of worship that fits the Wayside Family.
Wayside's Children Worship Arts (CWA) program gives children opportunities to minister in song, movement and drama. This is part of our Wednesday Kidz Serve program from 6:00-7:00pm. Children will have the opportunity to sing at Wayside’s Western Fiesta and in our annual Christmas program and Spring musical. Children in this program will learn to worship and sing for the Lord and be instructed in basic vocal techniques, rhythm and movement. During the course of the year CWA performs during morning worship services in addition to special events.
